Go East Regional Tourism Organization receives Alberta CIP grant

Go East Regional Tourism Organization has received an Alberta Community Initiatives Project grant in the amount of $35,145. This grant will help Go East to manage and promote summer initiatives with a goal to enhance and connect culinary trails and events in east central Alberta.

Jacquie Fenske, Alberta MLA Fort Saskatchewan - Vegreville presented the check to Go East Chair, Gord Snyder, and Yvonne Brown, Vice Chair, at the Tofield Nature Centre.   

Go East is pleased to partner and help fund the Baba’s and Borshch Ukrainian Festival (for a second year), Experience the Bounty in Beaver County, Taste of Wainwright and the planned Dine Vegreville event with funding thanks to the 2013 Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development Grant Program.

Go East Regional Tourism Organization and the Alberta Culinary Tourism Alliance have launched Eat East of Edmonton Culinary Trail and Events Pilot Project with the goal of working with emerging or existing culinary and rural events, helping them to grow, enhance producers in our region and promote them before and after major culinary events. This pilot project connects a number of events/tours in our region over the summer and fall: 

July 17-20: Taste Of Wainwright And Gail Hall Culinary Tour
Aug 8-10: Experience The Bounty In Beaver County
Aug 9: Elk Island Bison Festival. Conservation, Culture And Cuisine
Aug 23-24: Babas &  Borshch Ukrainian Festival/ Alberta Farm Days
Aug 23-24: Camrose Prairie Fun Days And Alberta Farm Days
Sept 7: Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village Harvest Of The Past & Taste Of Heritage Food Fest
Oct 4: Smoky Lake Pumpkin Festival
Oct 21: Lloydminster Harvest Feastival
Oct 25: Vermilion – The Royal Chef Presented By The Good Life Institute
