Community Visitor Survey Toolkit

Communities across Alberta need to better understand the importance of visitors to their community; their interests, needs, and economic impacts.

By asking specific questions, tourism associations can learn aspects of visitors’ behaviors and motivations, which can be used to make strategic decisions about community activities.

GP Regional Tourism Association & Chinook Country Tourist Association, received funds from the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism to develop a Community Survey Toolkit (Phase 1 ). The second phase was to aid other community organizations in administering a visitor survey research project up to $10,000.00 for five communities. This grant was provided for in March of 2016. Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association is proud to award the following communities with the grant funding.

  • Claresholm & District Chamber of Commerce
  • Fort McMurray Tourism
  • Newell Regional Tourism Association
  • Red Deer Tourism and Convention Bureau
  • Town of Slave Lake

The GPRTA and CCTA wish all the communities a great summer of surveying and look forward to the results this fall.
