Alto Ambassador nominations

Travel Alberta’s Alto Ambassador Award recognizes an exceptional Albertan each year who has made an outstanding contribution to our tourism industry.

Nominate one of your industry peers for the Alto Ambassador Award today! The deadline for nominations for the 2014 Alto Ambassador is May 23, 2014.

The Alto Ambassador award will be presented at the Alto Awards gala, October 20, 2014 in conjunction with the 14th annual Travel Alberta Industry Conference in Banff, October 19-21, 2014. Alto Awards in nine other categories will also be presented.

“This award distinguishes those who are really going ‘above and beyond’ in building our tourism industry,” says Colleen Reed, Travel Alberta’s Director of Regional Strategy. “These people are champions who inspire us all.”

The Alto Ambassador award was created in 2001. The program is industry-driven; nominations must come from a colleague in the Alberta tourism industry. Once submissions are received and evaluated, the Ambassador is chosen by a committee of industry volunteers and endorsed by the Alberta Strategic Tourism Council.

Ambassadors have come from all over the province and from a variety of tourism industry sectors. What they have in common is their leadership in moving Alberta’s tourism industry forward. The publicity and prestige of the award is not only a personal honour, it also shines a spotlight on the tourism activities in the winner’s region.
