The Calgary Stampede is looking for a people leader that shares our passion for our people. Through collaboration with our team you will engage employees and volunteers to align with our with strategic plan objectives. If you have exceptional skills in building relationships at all levels, the ability to deliver on complex challenges and you feel good wearing boots and a cowboy hat then keep reading, this position maybe for you!
You will be responsible for developing engagement and evaluation strategies and objectives for the volunteers and employees that reflect the vision of the organization. By monitoring market activity to ensure the Calgary Stampede programs are current and competitive, you will design effective communication practices, and create learning that engages and aligns with the Calgary Stampede strategic plan. You will also be responsible for providing management level coaching and guidance on engagement practices, performance management, career development, and employee/volunteer relations issues.
Of course there are the standard leadership skills that are required to lead a team of 4, interact with volunteers and employees across the organization and manage an annual operating budget. But we know you’ll have those skills because you already have over seven years’ experience as a human resources generalist, with at least four years leading a team. You will have a proven background in establishing and maintaining productive client relations, strategic partnerships and networks both within and outside an organization and you will have experience providing support to volunteer communities.
