We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized professional to join our Edmonton Events team as Sales Manager. As part of the Event Attraction team and reporting to the Senior Manager of Edmonton Events, the Sales Manager serves as the first point of contact for the sport and cultural event market, solicits events to Edmonton and markets our city as a premier event host destination.
The Sales Manager will be extremely approachable while prospecting, responding to enquiries, securing business and promoting our city. Being a superb relationship builder, this individual will know how to promote, negotiate and conduct enlightening site visits with clients. This confident and collected individual will represent or relay our messaging and brand and attend national sport tourism trade shows and conventions - delivering an outstanding impression of the city of Edmonton. The ability to demonstrate and provide a coaching and leadership approach will set you up for success in this role.
The ideal candidate for this role will have solid experience in sales along with demonstrated success within the sales, tourism or hospitality market. You are an organized and extremely detail oriented individual who thrives when problem solving and adapting to a variety of tasks and priorities. This tenacious and nimble person will excel in a pressured environment and has up to date knowledge on current market trends. With proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, you will be able to work within any computer programs smoothly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in tourism, marketing, sport administration or business and 2 or more years’ experience with tourism management, sport associations, events, account sales and marketing. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are a must. Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and Edmonton Tourism products will be considered an asset.
