Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, International Marketing; the Marketing Director, Asia is responsible for the strategic direction and marketing of the province of Alberta as a travel destination to Asia. In partnership with national, provincial, regional and private industry partners, and with the support of Travel Alberta’s in-market representatives; the Marketing Director leads the development and implementation brand-integrated marketing plans. This is a critical position in the International Marketing team as it fosters relationships and aligns partnerships amongst Travel Alberta, Market Development Directors, and Alberta industry stakeholders. This role will contribute to Travel Alberta People Strategy and team development by leading and coaching one direct report and actively living the team member behavior model. 

Position Requirements 

As Marketing Director, Asia you understand the intricacies of tourism marketing and international business. Your innovative and collaborative approach to program development will enable you to lead Travel Alberta to the forefront of Canada’s tourism industry. Your ability to act with conviction will establish and maintain relationships and partnerships that seize emerging market opportunities. Your leading-edge concept development, international business acumen and ability to manage projects of multiple scopes will allow you to develop and execute on unique opportunities that enhance Alberta’s position in the market. Your degree in Marketing, Tourism or International Business will be complemented with at least seven years of progressive tourism marketing experience, three of which are management experience. Your dedication and passion in branding and marketing has taken your career to this point. Now, it is time to advance to a new level by stepping into Travel Alberta’s exciting work environment! 

Special Requirements 

Travel (domestic and international) is required. 
This position is based in the Calgary office.
