Be part of an award-winning organization

Travel Alberta is the destination management organization of the Government of Alberta. We promote Alberta as a desirable place to travel, live, work, play, invest and learn.

Working with businesses throughout the province, we capitalize on Alberta’s breathtaking landscapes and world-class hospitality to develop memorable experiences for visitors to enjoy, in all regions, year-round. Our work directly and indirectly benefits our province, driving visitation and revenue, diversifying the economy, providing jobs, encouraging economic investment, and enhancing quality of life for Albertans and their communities.

If you're passionate about helping this province prosper and want to be part of an award-winning organization with strong corporate values, energetic team members and a great culture, Travel Alberta is the destination for you.

Why work with us?

Winning culture, diverse teams, passionate and meaningful work. Here are a few reasons to join our team:

Our most valuable asset is our people

Our team is made up of 80 passionate individuals who work collaboratively as we lead the way in the Canadian tourism industry as a destination management organization.

There are plenty of exciting opportunities ahead, and we have big goals to achieve in the coming years. We empower individual passion and success through our corporate values and the programs set in place to support learning, development and growth.

Excellence drives us. We embrace teamwork, foster innovation and are accountable for our performance and results. And we have a lot of fun along the way!

Passion is at the heart of what we do

At Travel Alberta, tourism-industry veterans and great minds from other sectors come together to do great work.

We have outstanding marketers and people passionate about destination and economic development. We have some who get jazzed by data and insights, and others who take those insights (among other things) and use them to tell our corporate and industry story. And, of course, we have the folks behind the scenes supporting the organization in finance, IT and HR.

Most of our positions are in Calgary, with a handful of team members in other areas of the province including Edmonton and the Rockies.

Diversity and inclusion is in the core of our values

Tourism is a reflection of our province. Just like Alberta is made up of people from different walks of life and diverse backgrounds, tourism is also a welcoming and inclusive industry that celebrates our differences.

We aim to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that is representative of the population we serve, where everyone is valued and respected, and where each team member can contribute as their full self to Travel Alberta’s objectives. We want our business to represent the ways in which we value all voices and perspectives, from who we partner with to the diversity of those we reflect in our marketing.

As an organization, we deliberately expand the articulation of these values to include Indigenous truth and reconciliation, referring to our strategy as reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion (REDI).

Here are the diversity stats for our team as of 2022:

  • 16% visible minority
  • 1% Indigenous
  • 60% women (including 66% of our senior leadership team)
  • 4% LGBTQ+
  • 14% people with a disability
