It’s no secret that the tourism industry was one of the most deeply impacted by the pandemic. But according to General Manager Andrew Shepherd, the Malcolm Hotel in Canmore used this challenge as an opportunity to pivot to new successes – from giving back to the community through the Soup for the Soul event in support of the Bow Valley Food Bank to an outdoor concert bringing back live music.

Creative ideas like these, along with the hotel’s picturesque location, luxurious rooms, and commitment to exceptional customer service, led to the hotel being named in TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards as one of the top 25 hotels in Canada.

Shepherd credits these successes to the ingenuity of his team and the resiliency and collaborative nature of Alberta’s tourism industry.

And this summer, Albertans can check out the award-winning, boutique hotel – along with its stunning mountain views and rooftop pool – while enjoying live music.

Legendary Canadian artist Jim Cuddy will perform with his band at the hotel on July 4, live from the rooftop stage with guests viewing the concert from either their own private guest-room balcony, the VIP pool deck and cocktail lounge, or the sound garden. This is an exclusive VIP concert experience, allowing concertgoers a safe and fun way to enjoy live music, topped off with a luxury mountain getaway.
