$5.4 Million

Total expenditure in Alberta (2021)

2 Million

Potential visitors to Alberta (respondents who indicated they are definitely or very likely to visit Canada in the next two years)

Overview

In the first half of 2023, there were about 56% as many travellers coming from South Korea as there were in 2019. This is a big increase from the 6% in 2021. Now that travel restrictions have mostly lifted in South Korea, along with locations along the way to Alberta, people going on trips will continue to increase throughout 2023. Experts from Oxford Economics think that by the end of 2023, the number of people traveling out of South Korea will continue to be about 56% of what it was in 2019, returning to peak levels in 2025.
