Visitation helps us understand which markets are already frequently visiting Alberta. This helps us predict where future visitors are most likely to travel from.

Statistics Canada determines the number of visits by people traveling within the province, from the rest of Canada, and international countries through their Visitor Travel Survey (VTS) and National Travel Survey (NTS). Visitation is defined as the number of visits by people that have travelled 40km or more and either stayed overnight (overnight visitors) or returned home that day (same day visitors).
