It is with mixed feelings that I share the news that I have resigned my position as CEO of Travel Alberta, effective June 17, 2020, to take a new position as the CEO of Tourism Vancouver beginning July 13, 2020.
Since starting at Travel Alberta nine and half years ago, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with so many of you as we worked together to grow Alberta’s visitor economy. That has been an incredible experience that I will take with me.
We have weathered so many storms: literal and economic. And through it all, your drive and commitment to our visitors near and far has made a difference for the well being of our province. The COVID-19 pandemic has hit Alberta and global tourism hard. However, with the reopening plans revealed, we have a glimmer of hope as businesses gradually re-open over the coming months.
I have no doubt brighter days are ahead for Team Alberta and I will be cheering you on as I take the reins at Tourism Vancouver. It’s an opportunity to return to my home province and family while continuing my work in tourism, which I have so much passion for.
Please know that I will be forever changed by my time in Alberta and my work with all of you. Thank you for your support and friendship over the years.
It has been a privilege and an honour.
