Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park is inviting resumes from energetic, and outgoing candidates with strong people skills to fill a Park Interpreter position for the 2018 season. Interpreters are responsible for presenting programs and tours for delivery to the public and schools. They facilitate interactive programs that connect adults and children with Alberta’s landscapes and heritage. They support event planning, preparation and delivery, and support other teams at the park

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed 1st year post secondary education in relevant sciences,
  • educations, communications, history, performing arts or indigenous studies.
  • Exemplary customer service skills
  • Strong work ethic and professional attitude
  • Experience using Microsoft Windows & Office, Email and Internet
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • WHIMIS 2015 Certificate
  • Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR-Level C Certificate
  • Class 4 license with a defensive driving course required (may consider
  • candidate with FULL Class 5 license- NON-GDL) *must indicate on resume
ASSETS:
  • Knowledge of Writing-on-Stone’s significance to Blackfoot and local heritage
  • Knowledge of Alberta’s flora & fauna, especially Grasslands species
  • Knowledge of park facilities and services, and the Alberta Parks system
RATE OF PAY:
  • $28.77/ hour
  • Plus 11.2% in lieu of benefits
  • Plus weekend and evening premiums
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
Seasonal opportunity approximately June 21st through September 30th.
NOTES:
  • Evening, holiday and most weekend shifts are required
  • On-site shared accommodations may be available for rent
  • Final candidates may be required to undergo a security screening
